Sculpture (public art)
"The sculptures have geometric forms, such as circles and rectangles, as their basis. They are realised in threedimensions as globes, columns and reliefs carved predominantly out of granite...... in addition , there is a reference to the cycles of the universe with the globe representing Earth - one of many planets in a eternal prosess of transition, transformation and renewal." This was written around 1994/95 and describes works done before 1995 by the arthistoriean Olga Schmedling (translation into english by Palmyra Pierroux) Nevertheless , it seems that this describtion to a certain extend can apply to the public commisions done after 1995 when one takes into consideration that these ARE commitionworks. Work which have to work within a context: Site,, arcitecture and the people living or working in this site. Children, old people a. o. )
